Hello and welcome! My name is Sara, and I’m the writer, recipe developer, and photographer behind The Driftless Gourmet. My love for cooking developed sometime during college when I decided to make the transition from eating TV dinners and gawking at food channels, to actually getting into the kitchen and preparing my own meals. Since then, I have become a food enthusiast and dedicate my time to creating recipes as well as eating as much delicious food as possible.
I am a veggie lover, and grew up being able to eat the freshest most flavorful vegetables straight out of our garden. My inspiration for creating recipes comes from my love of fresh produce that is packed with flavor. Although I am not a vegetarian or vegan, most my recipes are plant based, and whenever possible I find ways to reduce the amount of oils and fats.
